Born and raised in Oceanside California I was naturally a lover of the sun, sand and warm beaches, which I have been told is the exact opposite of Portland. I have and probably always will consider the beach home to me because its something that had such a big impact on me growing up. My love for the ocean and all that it entails grew from a very young age and had not lessened. The beach is humbling and a place of pure bliss for me that I have grown so accustomed to. My love for nature extends beyond the coast line which is why I am very excited to explore the beauty that Oregon offers. With being a more right brained person I have always found happiness in being creative.I love working with my hands which includes crafting, hand embroidery, and redesigning clothes. My other love in art is with painting, watercolor, and pen & ink.
My childhood was extremely family oriented, which is something that I am so thankful for. I am lucky enough to have two supportive parents who encourage me to continue to "walk to the beat of my own drum", as my mom would say. My older brother Max is my best friend, protector, biggest annoyance and more recently, travel partner. I was constantly tortured by him when I was younger so I have grown a very thick skin and acquired a good punch. I have two dogs that I adore completely and have helped in making me a more caring human. In the pst two years I have grown much more environmentally and animal conscience which had changed my perspective on our world and how we are treating it. Gaining perspective on the world through traveling has impacted me and been the reason for choosing me major, International Studies.
Traveling is a significant part of who I am, and has been embedded into me since the age of five. My dad gave our whole family the "travel bug" and has made it his mission to show me, my brother and my mom as much of the world as he can. From our first family trip to Costa Rica, to my most recent trip to Bali and Australia with my brother, to all the trips in-between, I have yet to gain the love for airports or layovers. Making Oregon my most recent place of travel, I am excited to see what it holds for me.
